I went all in, tried push beyond my limits.
Walking toward the light was the wrong way out of the dark.
This blinding white seemed so appealing from the start.
Like an exit sign evacuates but even a tunnel has its end.

I chose a natural light
that guided me toward life,
and even in pain
I found an acceptance for the in between.

This intuition, hard wired to survive,
but desperate times, over-riding every instinct.
So what’s the point if there was never an escape?
