These Bars
12:00
|
|
||
These iron bars I see in front of me.
I hold onto this cage, taking over.
Confine the stranger, I’m on my hands and knees.
And the Devil’s holding me, self-imposed.
These bars define what I believe
is all I see in me.
These bars define the truth inside
my own convicted life.
A narrow view of what I deserve.
My sentence has arrived, Judgment Day.
To bleed the rust I touch in agony.
To face a deeper Hell, un-caged.
These bars define what I believe
is all I see in me.
These bars define the truth inside
my own convicted life.
I remember when I was just a shadow by your side.
I remember when you could hear me as an afterthought.
A voice soothingly speaks lingering.
I remember when this began you held onto me like a prayer.
Now you beg and plead to let go, do you think you have what it takes?
A voice soothingly speaks lingering.
I stop and think, could I bend these walls?
Create the space I need to allow you here with me?
These bars beside what I believe,
a greater truth inside.
These bars beside no longer hide,
the lie that stepped aside.

The Greatest Decision
04:54
|
|
||
Choose your own corner of this room.
Take a look at the sights and sounds that come in.
Standing still, observing where to move,
and finding out there is room for all of this.
I’m scared, I won’t move.
I can’t take a step forward.
Feel myself fall,
can’t trust that I am just catching on.
Closing in as these thoughts dictate my choice.
Blinded to the space between each word.
I take another look
and make my actions step forward.
Pulled by another thread
but open to see which way this will go.
Every day I keep repeating the same things again.
Not enough room to make space for what I live in.
Choices keep a pile in the past where I’ve been mistaken.
And everything takes on the feel of the greatest decision.
Feel myself fall
and let go with the hope that I’m catching on.
Every day I keep repeating the same things again.
Not enough room to make space for what I live in.
Choices keep a pile in the past where I’ve been mistaken.
And everything takes on the feel of the greatest decision.

The Channels We Lay
07:12
|
|
||
Here we are,
lengths apart.
Before the horizon,
worlds fear colliding.
The channels we lay
help us find a way.
The dawn brings a new day,
helps us find a way
to adapt for connection.
Here we are,
distant from the start.
Build a new platform
in which we will reform.
The channels we lay
help us find a way.
The dawn brings a new day,
helps us find a way
to adapt for connection.
What is isolation in a wireless world? (x2)
Here we are,
not far apart.
The channels we lay
help us find a way.
The dawn brings a new day,
helps us find a way
to adapt for connection.

Fresh Start
04:26
|
|
||
I dug my heels into an ocean
assuming I would surely drown.
I learned to float on a wave of endless journeys.
Fresh start, a new voice,
made the most from an unforeseen choice.
Fresh start, a new life,
moving with the greatest of drives.
I wish there was some poignancy,
but a turning point comes in hindsight,
not meditated. Just let the wind take me where it will go.
Fresh start, a new voice,
made the most from an unforeseen choice.
Fresh start, a new life,
moving with the greatest of drives.
I’m haunted by why
while meaning moves me along.
Taken by surprise,
brought me to where I belong.
I’m haunted by why
while meaning moves me along.
Taken by surprise,
brought me to where I belong.

Natural Light
05:31
|
|
||
I went all in, tried push beyond my limits.
Walking toward the light was the wrong way out of the dark.
This blinding white seemed so appealing from the start.
Like an exit sign evacuates but even a tunnel has its end.
I chose a natural light
that guided me toward life,
and even in pain
I found an acceptance for the in between.
This intuition, hard wired to survive,
but desperate times, over-riding every instinct.
So what’s the point if there was never an escape?
I’m leaning in and staying with this til the end chooses me.
I chose a natural light
that guided me toward life,
and even in pain
I found an acceptance for the in between.
I chose a natural light
that guided me toward life,
and even in pain
I found an acceptance for the in between.

Particles of Light
05:12
|
|
||
Explode into dark matter,
infinitely vast.
The smallest parts of ourselves
defining all we know.
What could be beyond me
but nothing at the core.
The center of the Earth,
miniscule at best.
Chasing stars, who am I in this universe?
Particles of light in a world we call ours.
Interpreting the daydream
where ego fills the void.
Mind what’s on the left side
but question if it’s right.
Chasing stars, who am I in this universe?
Particles of light in a world we call ours.
The space between this emptiness
gives a form its meaning.
The silence of a thoughtful sound
fills a mind with ease.
Am I willing to cry in the moments I laugh?
Am I willing to laugh in the moment I cry?
Expand how you construct yourself.
Chasing stars, who am I in this universe?
Particles of light in a world we call ours.

No more goodbyes.
No more surrender.
No more avoiding time.
No more still life.
No more controlling.
No more justifying.
No more goodbyes.
No more eluding.
No more eyes closed to this moment.
Show up.
